A carer's assessment is a conversation with a professional social care worker about how being a carer affects you and your life. It is not an evaluation of your ability to care; instead, it is an opportunity to ensure you have all the information you need and to learn about services and support that can help you in your caring role. The assessment is free and available to all carers, regardless of financial circumstances.
