Patient Participation Group

What is a Patient Participation Group (PPG)?

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is made up of registered patients who work in partnership with their GP practice to ensure the patient voice is heard. By combining the unique mix of skills, knowledge, and experiences of its members, PPGs help develop projects and activities that benefit both the practice and the wider patient population.

How to PPGs work?

PPGs operate in various ways to suit the needs of their members and practices. Some groups meet in person, while others communicate online, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all. Whatever the format, new members are always welcome.

How Do PPG Members Contribute?

  • Feedback and Insights: PPG members share their experiences and provide valuable feedback on healthcare services in Dorset.
  • Regular Updates: Members receive updates from their practice, staying informed about changes and developments.
  • Community Engagement: They participate in PPG webinars, contribute to Primary Care Network -level discussions, and join county-wide networking meetings to shape the future of local healthcare.

By joining a PPG, you can play an active role in improving healthcare services, making a difference for your practice and fellow patients.
